Are you looking for opportunities abroad?

Are you looking for opportunities abroad?

It is Christmas time, and the mood is all set. I hope father Christmas has visited you; if not, don't get worried, we are in the same boat. Like anyone else, we are eager for the new year, and it's that time to sit down and reflect and write down 2024 goals. My new year goal is to travel to Hawaii (Hawaii, you heard me). If you have yet to decide or are in the process, here is the place for you. I will keep posting as many opportunities as possible, so be on the lookout for this blog.

From personal experience, most people are determined and ambitious but have few opportunities. Why? Do you have a guess? Yes, you are right; the answer is the information gap. Despite the technological advancement that allows people to communicate seamlessly through various communication channels, significant information gaps persist.

We must acknowledge the critical role that the internet play in passing information in a fraction of a second, and we must recognize the part of digital platforms such as social media. However, information interludes deny many people opportunities that would change their lives.

As we approach a new year, many organizations and institutions anticipate bringing in new members, be they learning or working. This article will discuss various opportunities abroad, particularly in Japan. In case you haven't heard about Japan, it is a developed country in East Asia and popularly known as a tech giant.

For football lovers, Japan's recent win against Germany heightened her fame. Furthermore, Japanese fans shocked the world when they cleaned the Qatar stadium. Yes, I hope you began to build your imagination of Japan.

Have you thought of studying and working in Japan but need to learn about the process? Imagine that the dream is valid, given the numerous scholarships. Those interested in Japan and who want to study as an overseas student can come to Japan and live here. The most famous and prestigious scholarship offered by the government of Japan is the MONBUKAGAKUSHO scholarship, widely known as MEXT. Interested people from all nationalities can apply for various degree programs through their respective Japan embassies in their home countries. The program opens annually, typically around April; however, countries have different deadline periods.

You would be interested to know some of the benefits you stand to gain. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) scholarship is a complete package. The benefits are as follows:

  • Fully funded scholarship in Japan
  • Level of study: Undergraduate/Masters/Ph.D./special training(teachers)
  • Wide range of courses offered; Social sciences, Humanities, Business, Engineering, Medicine, Arts, etc.
  • No prior Japanese Language required
  • Free round-trip air ticket
  • Free Japanese classes
  • Extension available (you can study from undergraduate to Ph.D. under the same scholarship)

Its no doubt the MEXT scholarship has all the compelling reasons to apply. As mentioned earlier, an information gap could lead to loss of opportunities. To help you fully understand the program, check the 2023/2024 program from the respective embassies . One may wonder whether the various programs are taught in Japanese, but you could be wrong, as many universities provide English courses.

I should have mentioned that while the MEXT program is purely government-sponsored, there is a co-sponsored scholarship with most universities in Japan. The University-recommended scholarships are under the MEXT program and are also applied simultaneously. Individuals must contact the universities beforehand and acquire the application details. The difference here is the application protocols. The university-recommended scholarship requires some proactivity from the applicant.

While the information may look sufficient, several questions may arise. I would be glad to receive any questions related to study, work, and Japan.

I want to use my experience to guide your journey and help you realize your new year goals. In the meantime, start preparing because April is not far from now if you are interested in studying and working in one of the most developed countries. I wish you all the best! I can't wait to get feedback from you through the comment section. Feel free to share this information in your networks and touch a soul today!!
